UPDATES IN GEOPOLITICS
In the light of current events, there is constantly a huge amount of content regarding politicians involved to a different extent and in different ways in ongoing crisis in Ukraine. We chose the most commented ones on PL Internet. Thus, on the one hand, we have Western leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on the other – Russian President Wladimir Putin.
Last week there was a significant increase in activity - understood as the intensification of discussions about aforementioned politicians - mainly due to World Economic Forum in Davos.
The largest number of entries in Poland applies to President Andrzej Duda raising strong emotions among Internet users with his remarks on passing on Leopard tanks to Ukraine.
During this period, Putin draws attention especially with his speach on January 18 after which many speculations appeared (i.e. on full mobilization in Russia). Putin appears also in comments on economic challenges in Poland (especially related to energy sector).
This week, Internet users speculated on German (still) expected decision on Leopard tanks for Ukraine - chancellor Scholz mostly being criticized for his alleged pro-Russian attitude.
